For Barnet Health Authority, Wilkins Consultancy provided the project management for the projects to develop the Initial and Full Local Implementation Strategies (LIS) for "Information for Health" for the Barnet Health Community, and programme management for the implementation. When Barnet Health Authority merged with Enfield and Haringey Health Authority, we updated and merged the joint LIS, and programme-managed its implementation. Wilkins Consultancy continues to provide Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Health Authority with project management, most recently for a project to identify the information requirements for an Intermediate Care EPR.
Following a project for Avon Health Authority to analyse the opportunities to improve clinical communications between primary care and secondary care using a variety of technologies, Wilkins Consultancy developed a co-ordinated, collaborative plan for implementation across the whole Avon health community. The plan was approved by the LIS Programme Board and given funding. We then provided interim project management pending recruitment to the full time project manager post.
Wilkins Consultancy was funded by the NHS Executive Information Management Group to provide project management support to the Avon Trailblazer project for pathology EDI messages, to bring the piloting phase to a successful completion, establish a consolidated plan and introduce new management arrangements for the roll-out and widespread implementation. We were then invited by Avon Health Authority to supply the Programme Manager for the collaborative development and roll-out of clinical messaging across the Avon Community, including five hospital Trusts and up to 150 GP practices.
For West London Healthcare NHS Trust, Wilkins Consultancy managed a project to reduce the time and effort used to provide management information and automate the process.
Wilkins Consultancy managed two projects under the CISP III programme, studying the information requirements of primary health care teams, and identifying potential international standard EDIFACT messages for exchange of information and other information issues for community units and GPs working in Primary Health Care Teams.
