Working as a business analyst we investigated a number of areas for the National Services part of the NHS Care Record Service, including:
- developed the domain scoping document for the secondary uses of clinical data and then undertook the detailed business analysis for the early implementation phases including NWCS replacement and NSF requirements.
- analysed the messages that would update the National Spine Record.
- developed the Domain Scoping document for the Workflow/Rules Service of the Spine and the use of rules throughout the NCRS
- developed the Domain Scoping document covering the current patient registration and patient medical record transfer processes; proposed options for how this might work when systems are migrating to NCRS compliant systems
- analysed how GP2GP electronic medical record transfer would fit with the proposed new registration processes
- developed Business Use Cases for patient registration with GP practice, removal from GP practice list, patient registration with the NHS, registration for temporary or additional services, amendments to demographics
- Used UML modelling, including use cases and activity diagrams, to describe business processes
We also acted as Interim Strategy Manager for the PACS Programme and developed an outline strategy for expediting the implementation of PACS across the NHS by 2006.
